The Psychology Behind Investing
Behavioral biases affect investment decisions of financial market participants. By understanding behavioral biases, investors may be able to identify and recognize their biases in order to improve their investment returns. These biases may be either cognitive errors or emotional biases.
The complexity of the markets leads to errors in thinking that occur when processing and interpreting information (cognitive errors), whereas emotional factors, like impulse or intuition, distort cognition and decision-making.
